The technical details

I would really have liked to show you a lot of photos of our servers, storage, network and all that stuff. Unfortunately, it is not permitted to take photos in our data centers - for security reasons.

Let me start off with some of the "standard" details which everybody proudly tells about, but which at the end of the day isn't always the same.

- We have servers in three data centers - Copenhagen, Drammen and Helsinki.
- We have our own redundant gigabit connection to our servers in each data center.
- No amature hosting. The data centers we are using are PCI certified (security, backup power, cooling etc) each year by another company.

In short, this means that everything around our company is taken care of and in order. It works! And it pays off at the end of the day. The more exciting and interesting details, however, lies behind our firewalls.

Not only do we have two firewalls - we've developed a completely hardware-redundant setup. That means that our setup does not care if a physical server crashes - another one will just take over. Normally, a game server is bound to one physical server. Not with us! When you press "start", your game servers is started on the physical machine that has the least load right now, meaning you'll get the best possible performance.

We believe, that in order to deliver the best products, we have to use the best suppliers. That's why 90% of our servers are from DELL, the rest IBM. That gives us a quality and hardware stability, that I don't think many can brag about.

We use Linux on our servers. We've configured our own kernel, which is made to fit our specific needs. Running on that is a bunch of programs we've developed ourselves, which takes care of everything. Staring and stopping your servers, creating new ones, deleting old ones, enabling and disabling plugins - all that stuff. These programs are connected with our website, making it super-easy for you, as a customer, to press a button and let our systems do the rest.
